PORTRAITS
A well done portrait can become a family heirloom. They don't necessarily need tons of expensive equipment to be successful. Someone wise once said, "Its not who has the most expensive equipment, but the mind that can make the most of the equipment they have available will be the most successful photographer.
A simple portrait setup does not have to cost a fortune, but if you want to spend one its easy. As you look to the right, how many of these were made with a full set of studio flashes? The truth is none of them. A single shoe flash with a cord to move the flash off the camera was the most advanced equipment I used.
With a little practice with lighting, and a little work on posing, all the while remembering to have fun with your subject, you will soon find that portrait photography can be a lot of fun. It can also create some wonderful memories.
